An Imperial Zoo

Last Saturday, friends invited us to go along with them to the zoo. The tiergarten has been on our list of things to do in Vienna, but never have found the right moment for it. You may be asking “what’s so damn special about a zoo?”. Well, for one- it’s known as the world’s oldest and it’s on the grounds of Schönbrunn Palace. The proximity of how close you get to the animals is unreal and it’s like walking through beautifully landscaped gardens rather than an animal sanctuary. It’s also not just a place to bring kids to, either.

I didn’t have to “zoom” in on my camera for these pictures. Notice the minimal fencing to keep the animals in?
